“Rowdy Baby” adds to the list of Indian songs with 1 billion views on Youtube

The song “Rowdy baby” from Dhanush’s Maari 2 was released on Youtube on January 2, 2019. A year apart and the song has hit 1 billion views adding to the list of the very few Indian songs that has crossed the benchmark and the first South Indian song to join the club.

Music director Yuvan Shankar Raja composed this peppy number and the choreography by Prabhu Deva gave a huge push to the song. Backdrops stunning and quick moves by the duo Dhanush and Sai Pallavi was a real treat to sore eyes. The art team has done great work we must say. The energetic duos moves were replicated and posted as videos all over the internet and tik-tok at the time of release. It created a sensation among the youngsters.

Dhanush took to Twitter thanking his fans on behalf of the team, and also remembering the 9 th year anniversary of the 2012 hit Kolaveri Di that made the diverse star tour the world as a singer.

The song was topping the charts for several weeks after the release and the number of times it was played on a loop in events is unimaginable.

The song has around 3.9 million likes and 647k dislikes on Youtube.

Comments have been increasing in number after the news of the song hitting 1 billion.

The movie was released on December 21, 2018, following the previous movie “Maari” becoming a hit.

Director Balaji Mohan captured hearts with the sentiment in this film along with Dhanush’s action scenes.

Dhanush’s very own Wunderbar films co-produced the movie along with Listin Stephen and Magic Frames entertainment.

The movie casting was illustrious and also contributed a major part to the movie.
